The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) plays a pivotal role in sustaining and enhancing the quality standards of the College across all areas of functioning, including:
- Curricular Development

- Infrastructure and Facilities
- Student Support Services
- Research, Consultancy, and Extension
- Governance and Leadership

Background and Establishment
The IQAC was established in 2005, in line with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council’s (NAAC) directive for all accredited institutions to establish a quality assurance mechanism as a post-accreditation initiative.
Guided by the Quality Advisory Committee (QAC), the IQAC ensures consistent efforts to improve and sustain quality in academic and administrative processes.
Meetings and Planning
- The IQAC holds monthly meetings to review ongoing activities, discuss challenges, and formulate strategies for quality enhancement.
- It promotes a culture of continuous improvement through structured and participatory planning.
Decentralized Functioning
The IQAC decentralizes academic and administrative responsibilities, delegating them to various departments on a rotational basis. This ensures equitable participation and efficient management of institutional functions.
The following activities are managed under IQAC’s guidance:
- Parent-Teacher Partnership: Strengthening collaboration between parents and teachers for holistic student development.
- Student Discipline and Attendance: Monitoring and enhancing discipline and attendance for effective learning outcomes.
- Personal Empowerment and Mentoring: Offering mentoring programs to empower students and address their personal and academic concerns.
- Student Placement and Welfare: Facilitating placements and welfare initiatives to prepare students for career opportunities.
- Add-on, Certificate, and Diploma Courses: Encouraging skill development through specialized short-term programs.
- Student Activities: Organizing co-curricular and extracurricular activities to promote overall student growth.
- Faculty Recharging Programs: Supporting continuous professional development through workshops, training sessions, and seminars for faculty members.

IQAC aligns with the Ethos of the St. Joseph’s congregation and the Vision of the College and seeks excellence in academic, social, and professional areas while deploying innovative measures to strengthen overall institutional development.

We at St. Joseph’s College, aim to offer holistic Education in Arts, Science, and Commerce for the empowerment of women from all sections of society by promoting academic excellence, global employability, and leadership with social conscience.
Functions of the IQAC
- Development and application of quality benchmarks and parameters for academic and administrative activities.
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment for participatory and technology-enabled teaching-learning.
- Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on institutional processes and taking necessary action.
- Dissemination of information to all stakeholders.
- Organization of inter and intra-institutional workshops, and seminars.
- Documentation of the various programmes/activities.
- Acting as a nodal agency for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
- Development and maintenance of institutional database.
- Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audit and its follow-up.
- Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report.
