• "Excelsior 2k23" Two Day Intercollegiate Fest on 12th and 13th October 2023.
• The great loss for the Institution - Former Principal, former Correspondent and Former Controller of Examination Sr. Alice Marie left for her eternal abode on 18th November 2023 leaving a great void in the Institution. May her soul rest in peace. Amen

• Ms. Petula Thomas, Director, Indo Australian Chamber of Commerce, Chennai was Chief Guest for the 61st Valedictory Function of the college on 22nd February, 2020.
• COVID – 19 Lockdown of the country from 19th March 2020.

• Mrs. Indira Tirumalraju Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, VSP, was the Chief Guest for the 59th Inaugural function of the college on 22nd July, 2017.

• The college bagged two prestigious State Teacher Awards - Dr. K. Manikya Kumari Dept of Botany and Dr. P. Jayalakshmi, Dept of Economics.

• Two weeks Faculty Development programme on “Entrepreneurship Development” by National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
• Dr. P.K. Jayalakshmi received National level “ATA award – 2017″ for Out Standing Achievement in the field of LITERATURE.
• “English Access Programme” a project US Dept of state, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs was very successful.
• Two day Intercollegiate Fest – Excelsior-2K17.
• Andhra Pradesh State Christian Minorities Fiance Corporation awarded Dr. K. Manikya Kumari Dept of Botany for rendering exemplary Services in field of EDUCATION during the felicitation programme of Emient Christians 2017.
• Physical Education Department organized UGC-sponsored Two-day National seminar on “SPORTS CULTURE IN 21st CENTURY”.
• Prof. K. Rama Mohana Rao, Principal of Arts and Commerce, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam was the Chief Guest for the 59th Valedictory function conducted on 24th February, 2018.

• A two-day workshop on Choice-based credit system ( CBCS ) was conducted for faculty of the college by Dr. Jesudasan, Principal, Madras Christian College, Chennai.
• Introduced Yoga, Martial Arts and Music as co-curricular activities for the students in addition to NCC, NSS and Sports.
• A new degree programme BBA was introduced from the academic year 2015-16.
• Prof. Uma Maheshwar Rao, Registrar Andhra University was the Chief Guest for the 57th Inaugural function of the college.
• One of the stalwarts of St. Joseph’s College  – Former Principal Sr. St. Andre passed left for her eternal abode on18th September 2015
• The big achievement of the year 2015-16 was the initiative of TARANG, the First ever Inter Departmental Youth Fest of St Joseph’s College for Women (A).
• On 26th January 2016 St. Joseph’s College for Women celebrated Republic day in the college premises.
• Mr. Sastry Pullela, Director & Executive Vice President, HR xinthe Technology (P) Ltd. Visakhapatnam was the Chief Guest for the 57th Valedictory function conducted on 27th February, 2016.

• College Inaugural Function was conducted on 7th Sept., 2013. Mr. Guruswamy, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) was the Chief Guest.
• One Day Workshop on ‘Personal Transformation and Value Development’ for all the faculty members. Resource Speakers – Dr. P. S. Annapurna, former HOD of Home Sc. & Dr. V. B. T. Sundari, HOD of History, June, 2013.
• One Day Workshop on ‘Significance of Mentoring and the Role of a Mentor’ for all the faculty members. Resource Speaker – Dr. P. S. Annapurna, former HOD of Home Sc., June, 2013.
• Received District Level N.S.S. Best Programme Officer’s award on 15-08-2013 from Prof. G.S.N. Raju, Vice Chancellor, Andhra University.
• One Week Workshop was organized for the faculty of PG Maths and Chemistry in Dec.(during MSE for PG students) to empower them in English language usage and to make them more articulate and communicative. Dr. Nalini Dutta, HOD of PG Eng. Dept. & Sr. Dominic, lecturer in PG Eng. Dept., were the Resource Speakers, Nov.2013.

• A series of workshops on ‘Effective Oral and Power Point Presentation of Personal and Departmental Profiles’ were conducted for all the faculty members in the month of Nov. before NAAC Peer Team Visit. Resource Speaker – Ms. D. A. Ramani, HOD of Off. Mngmt. & NAAC Coordinator of the college.

• NAAC peer team visit took place from Dec.9th to13th, 2013
• Prabhakar addressed the PG Eng. Faculty on Jan 31, 2014 and enlightened them on ‘Lesson Planning for PG Students’.
• College Valedictory Function was conducted on 15th Feb., 2014. Mr. Solomon Arokia Raj, IAS, Dist. Collector, Visakhapatnam, was the Chief Guest.

• Two day UGC National Workshop on “Effective Facilitation Skills for Teachers in Higher Education” organized by the Departments of Home Science & Office Management.
• Seminar on “Commitment to Education” by G. Mathew Srirangam, Dept. of Zoology, Andhra Loyola College (A), Vijayawada.
• One day Workshop on “Value Education” by Dr. Robinson, St. Stephen’s College New Delhi.
• Two day Workshop on “Ethical Hacking – Certified Information Security Specialists’ for Students & Faculty organized by the Department of Office Management.
• One day Colloquium on “Curriculum for P.G Students of Andhra University affiliated Colleges”organized by the Dept. of Chemistry.

• Marking the end of the Golden Jubilee year with the Eucharistic Celebration.
• “Colloquy on P.G. Chemistry Curriculum”, organized by the Department of P.G. Chemistry.
• UGC workshop on” Capacity Building for Enhanced Office Efficiency” organized by the Department of Office Management.
• Dr. P.S. Annapurna, Dept of Home Science received best Researcher award – Prof. K. Rama Krishna Rao Endowment and Dr. J. B.Rhina Dionnial award.
• The achievement of the college in this year was the participation of three final year students in the Adventurous Trekking Camp organized by the N.S.S. wing of Andhra University in Simla, Himachal Pradesh.

• Post graduate course in Analytical Chemistry was started and online Mid semester examinations were conducted for all the post graduate students. UGC Sponsored National Workshop on “Organisatioanal Culture in Colleges: Paradigm Shift”

• The Department of Homescience was selected & one of the centers to undertake the I phase of the Capacity Building Project – on “ Street Food Services” supported by World Bank & Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Language Laboratory was set up to teach communication skills

• Post Graduate courses in Mathematics and Undergraduate course in B.Com. and B.A. with Journalism & Mass Communication was started.UGC has granted the conduct of three Add-on-Courses in Travel & Tourism, Copy Writing & Editing and Effective Communication skills.Credit system was reintroduced at U.G. level.College was short listed by A.U. for consideration as “College with Potential for Excellence” by U.G.C.

• The Peer team of NAAC visited the college in August 2001 & after a thorough analysis accorded the college a Three Star status. The UGC Inspection Committee assessed the college in November 2001 for purpose of extending the third term of autonomous status. The team was very satisfied.

• Extension of Home science block with help from U.G.C. to improve the infrastructure since the student strength of the Home science Department has been increasing steadily in the past 2 decades.

• Department of Chemistry was selected for participation in a project on “Low Cost Chemical Instrumentation” organized by International union of Physical and Applied Chemistry.

• College was granted the Autonomous status by the UGC and given the freedom to administer its own academic programme. Several new courses like Women’s Studies, Consumer Education, Society and Culture of the Andhra were introduced.

• College was selected for COSIP (College Science Improvement Programme) for improving the Science teaching & research methods.
• Sr. Alice Marie took charge as the Third Principal.

• College was selected for COHSSIP (College Humanities and Social Sciences Improvement Programme) and was so successful that it was extended for follow up programme after 1983.

• Four storeyed Science wing for Laboratories was added with aid from U.G.C.

• Addition of another storey to the College Building with the assistance of U.G.C.

• Sr. St. Andre took charge as the new Principal. College strength – 400 students and 30 staff

• Obtained Permanent affiliation to Andhra University. Construction of resident student centre with aid from U.G.C
