Program Structure
The four-year honours program combines classroom instruction, laboratory sessions, and field-based learning in the first three years. The final year is dedicated to immersive experiential training through RAWEP (Rural Agricultural Work Experience Program) and AELP (Agricultural Experiential Learning Program), giving students direct exposure to crop and vegetable cultivation.
Student Development & the CRESCO Club
The department supports holistic growth beyond the classroom through seminars, guest lectures, and educational visits to agricultural research stations and farmers’ fields. The CRESCO Club provides students an active platform for competitions, academic events, and interactive sessions that build leadership, teamwork, and practical insight into modern farming.
Research & Industry Engagement
Students are encouraged to take up project work, internships, and collaborative opportunities with research institutes, universities, industries, and NGOs. Continuous practical assessment strengthens technical proficiency and analytical thinking, preparing graduates for meaningful roles in sustainable agriculture and rural development.
Faculty & Infrastructure
Guided by qualified and dedicated faculty, the department upholds a strong teaching-learning and evaluation framework. ICT-enabled laboratories and well-maintained field facilities ensure effective hands-on training. With a focus on academic excellence, innovative curriculum design, skill development, and employ ability, the department is steadily building a strong academic identity.
The department is committed to the comprehensive development of students combining academic rigour with field exposure, leadership opportunities, and community engagement — to produce competent, responsible, and innovative professionals ready to contribute to a sustainable agricultural future.
