History
The department of History was started in the year 1958. B.A. program, History, Economics and Political science, combination (H.E.P). And later in 1987 under Autonomous stream new combination with History in B.A program (H.E.O) History, Economics, and Office management. The department of History successfully completed 60 years.
Travel and Tourism course offered during V and VI semesters for B.A. students as core courses is the first of its kind in Visakhapatnam. This is introduced in view of its relevance to Job placements in Visakhapatnam. It is becoming more prominent on the Tourist map of Andhra Pradesh and India.
The rationale for Teaching /studying History is complex and controversial. Knowledge of History satisfies human carving to know our past. All human beings by nature are curious about their pasts and the events in the past that made them what they are today. Knowledge of History can only help to a certain extent in solving societal problems.
The Department of History aims to provide Academic Excellence and encourage the students to attend Civil Service Examinations and Teacher Training.
